Your post titled "Turquiose Lace Crocheted Necklace " has been accepted

After many more tries craftgawker has accepted another of our items.  It's nice to get an "accepted", instead of an "unfortunately."  Our turquoise crocheted necklace is now on the front page of craft gawker.  (It's also great as a collar to wear over a shirt, or to be sewn into one).  Here's it's link craftgawker, and the picture links to our shop

Jackson!

As of a couple of hours ago, Rachel and I have a new nephew!  His name is Jackson and he was born at 4:46 am, and is 7lb 13oz, and we are so glad to have him in the family.  Also, he was born on my dad's birthday.  So, in honor of their shared birthday, and all of the upcoming February birthdays, an Aquarius celebration:

Hearts For Haiti

It's amazing when the handmade community can reach out to those in need and promote social justice.  The awesome etsy shop HeartsforHaiti has raised $1,537.78 for doctors without borders in Haiti.  This effort is so obviously needed and it's so great to see all of the love that go into each of the products submitted.  Etsy buyers are obviously embracing this great cause as well.  Rachel listed some of our body butter, and it sold that day.

So much organization and effort has been put into this store.  The shop is beautifully put together.  Here's a screenshot of its beautiful banner and its current featured items:

The Cowl

To me the cowl is as indicative of etsy as a scrabble tile, owls, and sparrows.  In fact, I counted in one etsy finds email and found 5 cowls.  As you can probably tell, I have for a long time had a slight distaste for cowls and etsy's obsession with them.

However, I have come around to the idea of cowls thanks first, to my friend Lauren, who knit me a lovely, soft and comfortable cowl for Christmas that I honestly didn't want to take off; and second, to these fine artists who show that the cowl can manifest in a variety of beautiful and creative ways.

I love the slouchy bohemian appearance of these cowls, and their easy wearability.

Sweet Spring

I made a new treasury, in hopes of inspiring spring to arrive a little early, although I'm not sure that's really the way it works.  All anyone is talking about in North Carolina is the temperature.  I know everyone in the northern United States are thinking that we are wimps, but we're just not used to the cold like you are.

So, this treasury is dedicated to all things spring; flowers, pastels, and of course warm weather!

Enjoy!

Paris of the South

I'm going back to Chapel Hill because the Holidays are really over :(  So it's only appropriate that Rachel made a treasury about our hometown of Asheville.  Asheville is everything I would want a hometown to be.  It's open and artsy, friendly and laid-back.  It's amazing how much a location can shape a person.  I think that I was created by Asheville.  Here are some of the great artists from our great city

Flier

I made a flier for the shop.  Here it is, tell me what you think!

It may still be a work in progress...

Customize Your Valentine

For Valentine's day we are offering free customization on orders of over 5 lip balms, and only $2 extra on less than 5.  Etsy is the perfect place to find customizable products, which is a great way to show how much you care, and remind the recipient of you each time he or she uses it.  Here's an example of our customizable lip balm:

Our message is silly, but yours can be heartfelt, or funny, or something only you and the recipient will understand.  You can say WHATEVER you want.

So, I've been looking for other cool customizable items on etsy, here's a postcard that would be a great way to remind all of your friends, not matter where they live, how much you care

This one is really funny for the geek lovers out there:

These little love birds are so cute, and Polkadot Magpie offers a variety of personalized bird necklaces.  The love bird necklace is my favorite though because it's quite clever, and once again, perfect for Valentine's Day!

Gray Kitties iz knowZ best

This treasury of gray cats is inspired both by our menacing gray tabby, full name: Davey Havoc, as well as the expected end of the LOL cats craze of the last decade.  Cats made the Jezebel's article Here Today, Horrible Tomorrow, as the next OUT pet.  Lets hope that next decade gives lots of furry kitties homes, but avoids the craze!  LOL cats were fun for a while, but it's time to find a new time waster (etsy anyone!?!)
